Haibun Poems
By Victor P. Gendrano
This is an ongoing collection of my haibun, also called prose poetry because it is a combination of prose and haiku poems. The prose part is sometimes gleaned from travel diaries or just everyday events which is then interspersed with a haiku or two.
Strictly speaking, while my haibuns may not qualify with the original Japanese literary art form in structure, they approximate it and give me another dimension to write in a different form. Also, mine tend to be longer and thus may be closer to essays. In the case of some of my haiga (picture poem) with background narrative information, I include them loosely with haibun.
Enjoy these haibuns as I took delight in writing them.
