Makeshift shrine

by Victor P. Gendrano

her friends built a makeshift shrine
where they hold vigils with incense

on Christmas time there's more candles
and stockings to fill her wishes

the sacred place is where she died
by a drunk driver's carelessness

In my new book: RUSTLE OF BAMBOO LEAVES
