This movie is based off the cult book about the life of Chuck Barris [played by Sam Rockwell] (the creator of the Gong Show, the Newlywed Game, and the Dating Game). He says that he was a freelance CIA agent and he's killed 33 people. He never admitted it but he also never denied it. This movie is about his life.

This was an interesting movie. Chuck Barris led a sad life. I felt sorry for the girl he married Penny (Drew Barrymore), he was always cheating on her and stuff and she loved him so unconditionally. You really wonder if he was a hit man or not. When they show him in the end he looks like he's had a hard life. It had its amusing points but was more of a dark comedy. I did, however, find myself phasing in and out while watching this movie. It had some moments that were boring and drug on (as interesting as this guy's sexual exploits were...). Because of this, the jury gives this flick:
