GENEALOGY AND FAMILY HISTORY

Hold fast to your memories,
to all of the cherished moments of the past,
to the blessings and the laughter,
the joys and the celebrations,
the sorrow and the tears.
They all add up to a treasure of fond yesterdays
that you shared and spent together,
and they keep the ones you loved
close to you in spirit and thought.

IN MEMORIAM

Floyd Johnson, genealogist and researcher of Johnson/Jeansonne Acadian family history and our brother, departed this life on December 27, 1998. Thousands of Acadians have found their roots due to his diligent efforts and contributions to our family heritage. He has gone on to his blessed reward, where he now will find answers to elusive and mysterious research questions, such as who were the parents of William Johnson. In addition, his accomplishments in city government as mayor, and church and community activities, especially sports, were numerous. We mourn his passing. He shall be greatly missed by many.

IN MEMORIAM

Roy Lee Johnson - 1906-1999

Admiral Roy L. Johnson, oldest brother of the children of John and Hettie Johnson, departed this life on March 20, 1999, after reaching his 93rd birthday on March 18. Roy's distinguished naval career included his appointment of Commander-in-Chief of U. S. Naval forces in the Pacific from 1965 to 1967, Commander of the U. S. Seventh Fleet prior to that, and the first commanding officer of the USS Forrestal on its maiden voyage. He was loved by his family and respected by friends and co-workers alike, not only in his military roles, but as a person. We shall all miss him.
