AMPEREX
Amperex tubes are very sought after by audiophilers.These tubes are great in guitar amps as they have a very airy high end with warm mids that break up nicely when driven hard.It is not uncommon to find Amperex tubes with other labels.I currently obtained some Amperex tubes labeled Electrohome.They are the exact same tubes.Made in Holland,and have the same great tone.Amperex also had a manufacturing plant in Canada (Phillips)that made the identical tube.Comparing the Holland made next to the Canadian made there doesn't seem to be any difference in construction or sound quality.The Amperex Bugle Boys are the most popular Amperex tubes.More so because they are becoming increasingly hard to find,and will demand high dollars from tube sellers. |
