Traditional Ip Man Wing Chun Association

Grandmaster Ip Chun Ip Chun Si-Fu, the eldest son of the late Grandmaster Yip Man (Yip Gei-Man), was born in 1924 in Foshan in the Zheyieng Delta region of the Guangdong province of Southern China. He began studying Wing Chun with his father when he was 7 years old, however he admits that he did not really want to learn at that time and that he remembers relatively little from that early tuition. In 1962 Ip Chun and his younger brother Ip Ching , were forced to leave China for Hong Kong, where they lived with their father. During the day Ip Chun worked as an accountant and newspaper reporter, at the same time in the evenings he restarted his Wing Chun studies with his father, maintaining the Chinese tradition of passing down the Kung Fu skills from father to son. Master Ip Chun trained with his father most evenings and since Grandmaster Ip Man's home in Tung Choi Street, Mong Kok was also his Wing Chun school, Master Ip Chun was able to witness and study his father's Wing Chun and his teaching methods every evening.

Grandmaster Ip Ching the youngest son of Grandmaster Ip Man, is a gentle and humble Gung Fu Master, who teaches with Authority. It has been his mission to insure the standard of his father's Gung Fu system. GrandmasterIp Ching is the President of the Hong Kong Ving Tsun (Wing Chun) AthleticAssociation, which is the headquarters established by Ip Man in 1968. The Grandmaster has successfully passed his family's Gung Fu system to Europe and the U.S.A. through Master Samuel Kwok, and his students.

Master Samuel Kwok has been studying Wing Chun for over 30 years. He first studied under Chan Wai Ling in Hong Kong in 1967. After moving to the UK in 1972, he studied under Lee Shing. It was Lee Shing who introduced Sifu Kwok to Master Ip Chun in 1978. After intensive private study with Master Ip Chun in 1981, he was awarded Master Status represented Ip Chun for years in Europe.

Sifu Kwok was the first to bring Ip Chun and Ip Ching from Hong Kong, and introduce their teaching to the U.K. Europe, Germany, Australia, Denmark and the U.S.A. In 1994 , Sifu Kwok returned to study with Grandmaster Ip Ching and is the SENIOR REPRESENTATIVE of the Ip Man / Ip Chun / Ip Ching Lineage in the U.K. and U.S.A. with certified instructors around the world.

In 1998, Master Kwok was awarded a BA Honours from Manchester University for a lifetime acheivement in promoting the martial arts.

Samuel Kwok has also trained many of the top Wing Chun instructors now actively teaching in their own right in the UK, the U.S.A. and around the world.

Sifu Kwok now teaches privately from his home in Blackpool as well as a local class. He also gives regular seminars to his schools around the UK, and the rest of the world. He is dedicated to the spread of the Original and Authentic Wing Chun system as passed to him directly by the Ip Family.
