Welcome to Padma. Padma is a technology for transforming Telugu text between various public and proprietary formats. This page is currently under development and is known to work on Internet Explorer 6.x, Mozilla Firefox 1.x, Netscape Nagivator 8.x on Windows 2000 and Windows XP; Mozilla Firefox 1.x on Linux. This page requires JavaScript; the older Transformer that uses Java is here.
The current version of Padma is 0.4.1. This page is based on the technology used by the Mozilla Extension of the same name. The extension (supporting Firefox, Thunderbird and Netscape) can be downloaded from Mozilla Update or Mozilla Developer websites. Many thanks to Kolichala Suresh, Indraganti Padma, Ben Bennett and Harrison Ripps for their counsel and advice.
The output generated by Padma is in one of two forms.
Padma accepts inputs in any of the following encodings.
To transform, type or paste the input text into the text area, select the source and target encodings and click on Transform button. The output is generated in a new window. For RTS output, the writing style and the sunnaa style can be specified. Unicode output can be generated using HTML Escape sequences which will allow using ASCII mode for FTP'ing the generated output.
