| Avant Garde (1987-1989) Avant Garde started in 1987 in Connecticut. The Members were Kevin Ridel, Justin Fisher, Bryn Mutch, Mike Stanton, and Rivers Cuomo. They were essentially a metal hair band. Their first demo tape was made in 1987. Their second demo was made in 1988. Their last demo was made ar Trod Nossel Studios in Connecticut. Several bootlegs were also exist. In early 1989 the band moved to Los Angelas in an effort to become more focused. They renamed themselves Zoom. Rivers Cuomo first "pro" band |
