III. Officers
A.
The Managing-Director
is a faculty member appointed by the principal of the high school. He will
consult the members of the core group in all matters as he sees fit. Because
the ultimate responsibility for the group is his; the final decisions are his.
In actual practice, most decisions have been made only after consultation with
members.
B.
All the members of the core group are equally
important. There are no superstars. Most decisions are group decisions. The
actor who is spotlighted and the lights man who stays in the shadows are as
important in the group. It is the quality of the job done and the spirit in
which the job is done that are the measure of the worth of the members, more
than the bigness or the smallness of the job. With these in mind, the following
officers are elected by the members of the group:
1.
The Spokesman
a.
He assists
the Managing-Director in leading the whole group towards the attainment of the
aims and objectives of the organization as expressed in the Sibol Constitution.
b.
He assists the Managing-Director in the management of
the group in its different projects; and, in his absence, assumes his duties
and responsibilities.
c.
He is the official student representative of the
organization.
2. The Business Manager
a.
He is in
charge of marketing the productions of the company, and as such, is primarily
in charge of getting audiences for Sibol performances.
b.
He is in
charge of the printing of tickets, the distribution of tickets, and the
collection of the payment for tickets. He is in charge of the ticket office
before each performance. After each performance, he makes a written report to
the group, regarding the financial aspect of the performance. Together with his
financial report, he surrenders to the treasurer the cash receipt of the performance.
c.
He is in
charge of posters.
d.
He is in
charge of press releases.
e.
In the
absence of the Managing-Director and the Spokesman, the Business Manager
assumes their positions.
C.
The following officers are appointed by the
Managing-Director in consultation with the elected officers:
1. The Secretary-Treasurer
He keeps a logbook of the daily
activities of the outfit. He posts a monthly calendar of activities. He,
likewise, handles the finances and bookkeeping of the group. He publishes a

ways of making them more systematic. When Sibol meetings extend beyond 6:00
p.m., he reminds the Managing-Director or the Spokesman of the time.
14. The Chief Choreographer
He takes charge of directing the
choreography needs of Sibol.
15. The Stage Manager
He is in charge of running the whole
production after the dress rehearsal.
16. The Chief Accompanist
He takes the
role of accompanying the Sibol Choir during Masses, performances, choir
practices and any other activity which requires an accompanist.
17. The Novice Master
He is in charge of the training of
the aspirants. He is usually a junior.
18. The Auditor
He reviews Sibol finances and books. For greater objectivity, he is a Sibol alumnus.
D.
There are also small but, nevertheless, important
assignments Sibolistas may be appointed to.
1. The Batch Representatives
The batch reps are elected or chosen
by their respective batches as their official representatives. They make sure
that their respective batches are okay and intact. In Sibol outings, they
account for every member of their batches and “take care” of them. They should
be able to lead and guide their batches as they too grow Godwards. There should
be a batch rep for the junior and sophomore batches.
Together with the Spokesman, the Business Manager and the
Secretary-Treasurer, they form the advisory council of the Managing-Director.
2. The Understudies
Each officer, except for the
Spokesman, should assign an understudy in the junior and sophomore batches.
Understudies observe the officers do their work and learn and, if needed,
assist them in their jobs. The understudies of the Secretary-Treasurer are not
yet allowed to manage Sibol funds; instead, they usually manage their batch
funds. The batch reps are considered the understudies of the Spokesman.
3.
The Bag Man
He is responsible for bringing,
caring for and carrying the Sibol Music Bag to Masses. He takes charge of
distributing, collecting and keeping the lyrics of songs and the Papuri books. He is also in charge of
distributing the missalettes during the First Sunday Mass. He is usually a
sophomore assigned by the council.
4. The Fan Men
They take responsibility of caring
for Sibol’s electric fans. As a rule, they are the only ones allowed to touch,
move and clean the fans. There is usually a Fan Man for every batch assigned by
the council.
5. The Flag Men
They take responsibility for the Philippine Flag. They make sure it is clean, is in its proper position and, during performances, is able to fly and is spotlighted. There is usually a Flag Man for every batch assigned by the Stage Manager.
