The following are known descendents of Edward Byrne and his wife Mary, who are buried in the Graveyard at Glendalough, County Wicklow.. These graves are in the grounds at the ruins of the old Monastic Churchyard
Edward  and Mary's son Patrick emigrated to Australia  with his wife Mary Doyle,arriving in  Melbourne after 31 July 1853 as this was when their  first child  Mary was born on the sea near Melbourne(This information given on her Marriage and Death Certificate ) At this stage there is no indication as to  which ship the family arrived on. In 1864-65 they were living at 83 Little Collins St Melbourne,  behind the old Radio Station,near the  Mail Exchange at the corner of Russell  and Little Collins Sts . Later on they  lived at 47 Argyle St,Nth Fitzroy. The Directory lists this after 1889 as 73 Argyle St..This house  was still standing in 1984, sandwiched between 2 brick factories. They lived  here until Patrick's death on  July 18 1889. After this Mary went to  live with her son Edward at Epsom Rd Ascot Vale until her death  31 Dec 1889.
Patrick was born in the townland of  Mullinnavique,Wicklow and his wife Mary was born Annamoe,Glendalough,Wicklow. She was christened 23.10.1831.
Their son Edward attended the parish school of St Francis Church at the cnr.
of Elizabeth and Swanston Sts Melb. This was their Parish Church.
Edward was Baptised at St Francis and his sponsers were Thomas Byrne and Lucy Byrne.
Edward's wife Mary Elizabeth was born  April  1854 in the 2 storeyed grocery shop built by her father on the Cnr. of Moor and George Sts. Fitzroy.
