Berkey, Barbara (posted June 5, 2005) Hi. What a pleasant surprise to be informed of this website. (Thanks to Debbie Davis). I live on the west coast of Florida (Bradenton) about 10 minutes from the beach. I own a condo and have one daughter, Taylor -- age 12. I never married but adopted my child when she was 3 months old as a single mom. Best decision I ever made. We have a wonderful life, very peaceful, quiet and filled with lots of love, laughter and great friends. I do medical transcription for a living. I have been abundantly blessed. I won't be able to attend a reunion in NY but would love to hear from old friends. Berkowitz, Susan (posted Nov. 1, 2004) Thanks so much for getting in touch with me. I'll have to thank Linda for her help in facilitating that. My goodness, where to start, well the easy, simple facts are: I live with my husband Tom in Harrisville, New Hampshire. Harrisville is a small, former textile mill town, and so it still retains much of its historic charm & character. We are located in the South Western corner of NH about 40 minutes East of Brattleboro Vermont. We have lived here for 25 years with our two daughters Lara, now 27 and Amaris 24. Both girls are teachers and live right outside of Denver, Colorado. I am the Administrative Director for the Environmental Studies department at Antioch New England Graduate School in Keene, New Hampshire and have been here since 1990. My husband has his own architectural firm of Weller and Michal Architects in Keene as well. This is a far cry from Green Acres for sure! I look forward to reconnecting with everyone! Our older daughter Lara, is getting married this coming summer. Hopefully by September we will have recovered, and won’t be too overwhelmed with work at that time, to swing a trip to NY. I have always wanted to return to Valley Stream and see my old home and neighborhood. I have not been back in 34 years - it seems like a lifetime ago. Brady, Timothy (posted Jan. 1, 2005) His Newsday Obituary read: on November 29, 2004 of Valley Stream. Beloved husband of Joan. Devoted father of Meredith, Ashley and Robert. Interment to follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Pinelawn, NY. In lieu of flowers donations made to St. Anne's Cancer Care Center Mercy Hospital, 1000 North Village Avenue, Rockville Centre, 11570 or Good Shepherd Hospice, 528 Mineola Avenue, Carle Place, NY 11514 in Timothy's name would be appreciated. Byron, Beverly (posted May 1, 2005) Hi Steve. I just spent some time looking over your fantastic website and particularly enjoyed seeing everyone's history, so here is mine. I moved from Long Island to Springfield Virginia in 1990. I think only one other place in the world has traffic to compare to LI's and that's Northern Virginia. I was a stay at home mom on Long Island, and when I was divorced in 1986 went back Molloy College and got a BA in Education. Currently I am teaching 3rd grade for the City of Alexandria, outside of Washington DC. I have 2 daughters - both of whom are engaged to be married. Lauren is 25, a hairdresser in Old Town Alexandria and she will be getting married in Key West Florida in July. Pam is 23, graduated from George Mason University in VA in May 2004 and she is working in art, antique and gold leaf restoration for a master craftsman in Alexandria. Pam is getting married in the spring of 2006. I basically raised both daughters on my own and am very proud of them both. Pam and I graduated together last May - she with a BA in Art and Culture and me with a MA in Education. It was a great day in the Stewart family (see photo 3). |
