Longmore. Janet  (posted March 1, 2005)
I found your website (very nice, by the way) while searching for what came up under my father's family name.  A friend from NY had been trying to find me for several years but couldn't, so I wondered what was out there under my name.  It's just serendipitous that I saw my name on the missing classmates list; but I'm glad I did.
A short bio of the years would be:
I Left NY in the mid-seventies, moved from coast to coast and settled in the Midwest to be near family.  Met my husband (now separated) when he was teaching at a university.  Spent time in Denver, and moved to the Dallas area 20+ years ago.  I'm retired from educational administration after having spent 15 years in a large academic department, Radio/TV/Film, of a university.  My former students are on the air all over the world, and I often hear their voices as I pass through other cities, or see them on the air.
I suspect I'll win the alum's "youngest children" award because at this moment I have two thirteen year old children, who are not twins.  My daughter was 13 last week, and my son will be 14 next week.  Thus, I now have two thirteen-year-old children.  Some of our classmates probably have thirteen-year-old grandchildren!
I'm busy with a custom Renaissance garb clothing and accessories company, and perform at Renaissance Faires around the country.  Both of my children are learning how to use whips (we import Australian kangaroo hide whips) as part of a comedy act.  I admit that we are not the typical family.  Well, when you have an AARP card while your kids are in elementary school, I guess that's a given...
The photo will have to wait awhile.  I've just had back surgery so no one is getting near me with a camera right now!
Take care, Janet Longmore Chakour

People here in CT call me Chris, it's a long story which you need not worry about.  I spent 2 years at Nassau Community and 2 years at SUNY New Paltz, I graduated with a BS in Biology.  I paid for college without a loan and w/o parental help.  I did it with work study jobs and working summers w/ Doug Pohl, Mike Sashin & John Parris painting the school.  I taught 4 years in Catholic High School, spent a year on Wall Street and went to Atlanta to Chiropractic school.  Returning to Long Island, most of my HS friends had left (Rich Schiek to Rochester, Sashin to the Navy, Pohl to Utah, Bob Heiss to Indianapolis, etc.) so I made my way to Connecticut.  Set up a practice and I'm here 22 years later.  A lot of my work comes from lawyers.  I'm CONSTANTLY trying to meet lawyers to get their PI work.  I love the chiropractic, but hate the sales/promotion that goes with it.  I have a wife and 2 kids (12 & 10).  My plan is to practice till I'm 59 1/2 (when my daughter graduates high school) then either go back to teaching or join a group practice and work part time.  Spending 6 months in FL or SC is a dream which I hope I can do when the kids are out of college.  Looking forward to the reunion!

All is very well in Cleveland, although we were designated the poorest city in the country a while ago, but anyone from the Class of '70 is welcome to visit and I will guarantee their safety.   Just a little bit of family stuff... my wife Diane is well and my girls are doing fine.  Maggie is a senior at Mount Holyoke College and captain of the hockey team.  Sam is a sophomore at Ithaca College and in the middle of her second year on the soccer team. And... Diane and I are working most of the time to pay for it all.  Exciting stuff, huh.  (

I just hung up with Linda Wettenstein (Schroeder) and she told me about this website (too wonderful). I have been living in Covington, LA for the past 20 years. I was a flight attendant for Delta Airlines for 26 years and just retired this past November. I am married to a retired Delta pilot and we have a 16 year old daughter.

Please add my e-mail address to the list. I cannot believe how many years have flown by. Linda said a reunion is being planned for September-I would love to know the details.
Hope all well with you. Thank you for putting this website together.
