Remembering Richard Hogan Richie was fatally stabbed by Butch Vespucci outside a Valley Stream bar in 1979. Prosecutors said the stabbing occurred shortly after Vespucci argued with Hogan for giving authorities infor- mation about a robbery that Vespucci's brother allegedly committed. A guilty plea was entered, and the case was finally brought to a close on September 23, 2003, some 24 years after Richie was murdered. Read the full account of the Newsday story here.
