posted December 1, 2004: I would love to be in touch with members of the Class of '70.  I am presently living in Boca Raton, Florida and am still teaching... part time at the Yeshiva High School.  I teach a senior course in Jewish History which I developed that covers the history of anti-Semitism and the Holocaust  (using a text which I wrote and received  an award from the Palm Beach County Federation) .
As a Judaic sculptor I have created awards for numerous Jewish organization which have been presented to David Ben Gurion, Margaret Thatcher, Johnny Cash, Donald Trump, Hubert Humphrey, Steven Spielberg and Henry Aaron, to mention a few.

I have also won three short story contests and placed first in a nationwide contest sponsored by the Miami Jewish Museum for original Passover Seder Plates and was awarded $1,800. I also serve as cantor at my local synagogue.
In 2002 I assisted Sue Howard in planning the 38th reunion of the Class of '64 in Tampa, Florida and this past year I worked with Tom MacPartland on the 40th reunion in New York.
I have been in touch with Debbie Oppenheimer, James Napoleon, Paul Zegler,
Sue Andiman, Emily Cardenas, Jon Delfin, Terri Donohue, Don Krendel, Eric Hilton,  Adam Mark, Cheryl Mirkin, Neil Murphy, Richard Myron, Laura Stammers and Effie Xenos.  During the past two years I saw Joe Caruso and Joe Argenzio at the Tampa reunion and Adrian Biagioli visits with us every year when he spends time in his home in Boynton Beach.

Steve, It would be an honor to re-unite with members of the class of ’70. I really enjoy hearing from former students and what has been going on since their “carefree” days at Falcon High. Here is my info:  ob11@optonline.net

By any chance are you planning a 35th reunion in ’05?  Suggestion – has anyone from SHS ever thought of starting an Alumni Assoc ? If so, I have info that might be helpful.
Stay well and thanks again.

I send Holiday Greetings to the members of the Class of 1970 and to my colleagues from the SHS faculty.  Treasuring special moments is the priceless gift of time.  May each of you enjoy many special moments as the year 2004 rushes to a close
.

I live in West Babylon, NY and Northampton, MA.  My daughter, Caryn, died of leukemia in Richmond, VA at the age of 24 in 1989.
Teaching must be in my blood!  In each spring semester I supervise teacher interns for the Department of Family, Nutrition, and Exercise Sciences at Queens College of CUNY.  It is a perfect opportunity to give back something to the profession that has treated me so well.  Mentoring and sharing the excitement of new teachers in Family and Consumer Science in their classroom placements on Long Island is a thrill for me.   My tenure at SHS was 1967 - 1995.  In 1980 I was awarded the New York State Teacher of the Year recognition by the American Home Economics Association and Family Circle Magazine for developing and teaching the program "Life Styles" at SHS.  The course content focused on family relationships, cultural and sexual diversity, and life planning for seniors and graduating juniors.  It is amazing now to see how innovative and revolutionary it was.  In MA, I am actively involved with the Five College Learning In Retirement organization.
