« Hey Zac! »

Zac turned around suddenly.

« Carlin, is that you? »
« Yeah! What’s up? »
« Well, nothing much! What about you? Wow, I’m surprised to see you here! How did you know we were here? »
« That’s the weirdest thing. I didn’t! So I’m really surprised to see you too! I just wanted to take a walk and there you are! So, why are you running after the birds? »
« Haha! Well, I don’t know! Life on tour can get pretty weird. It’s fun to go crazy and just do whatevr comes to mind…or almost everything…like running after seaguls! »
« Ok. Aren’t you afraid they’re gonna poop on you though? »
« That’s the downside but hey, I can always take a shower right? Anyway, I should probably stop before they do poop on me! I don’t want that to happen! »
« Yeah. Maybe you should stop. Actually, you probably should have earlier! »

She was laughing.

« Oh, no! Don’t tell me what I think you are going to! Crap! Where is it? »

He started searching nervously.

« On your shoe. I guess your shoe’s gonna have to take a shower huh? »
« Ha! I guess so! I better get going now though. We’re leaving for Vancouver in an hour and we have to pack and I have to clean this disgusting mess! »
« Right. I’ll see you someday I guess. »
« Yeah. You’ll probably run into us a couple more times! »
« I hope so. I better get going too. Bye Zac! »
« Bye! »

Carlin walked away and didn’t turn her back. It was too hard to even think about Zac. She knew that fate had permitted her to see Zac again so she could tell him how she felt about him but she hadn’t. She didn’t have the courage. Maybe if she was certain he felt the same way she would have told him. She stopped walking as she heard Zachary say something to her.

Carlin sat on the ground and stared at the grass crying.

« Carlin! »
« What? » ,she mumbled.

Zac sat beside her.

« Don’t cry. » He leaned Carlin’s head on his shoulder. « What’s wrong? I’m sorry if I hurt you. »
« You didn’t Zac. It’s just really hard for me to be with you…because I know I’m never going to see you again. And that hurts. »
« Ohh. Who said you’ll never see me again? »
« I mean in real life…like this, Zac. »
« That’s what I meant too. Don’t cry Carlin. I really like you and I would never just leave you like that. I was just shy of telling you because I didn’t know if you felt the same way. I’m sorry. »
« You like me? », she turned to him.
