RICHARDSON

My earliest Richardson ancestor in the state of Tennessee was Drury Richardson.  He was the son of William Richardson and Margaret ? in Moore County, North Carolina.  He was the grandson of Drury Richardson and Sally ? in Moore County, North Carolina.  He was the great-grandson of William and Elizabeth ? in Randolph County, North Carolina.





Drury Richardson was born in 1795 in North Carolina.  He died in 1855 in Tennessee.  He was married to Sarah (Priscilla) Prosser.

They were the parents of the following children:



Ritty Caroline Richardson b. 1825.  Was married first to James Mansel Bartlett and second to George Burroughs.



William Richardson b. January 5, 1826, died October 17, 1908.  He was married to Nancy Raney.



Drury Richardson b.1831 and married Mary Jane Wade.



Frances Richardson b. 1835 was married to William Epps.



James Richardson b. January 23, 1837 d. October 29, 1918.  He was married to Mary Jane Sorrells .



Jackson Richardson b 1838 and was married to Susan C. Duncan.



Joel Richardson b. 1842 and was married to Christianna T. Redd.



James Richardson b. January 23, 1837 d. October 29, 1918 was married on April 3, 1856 to Mary Jane Sorrells, daughter of William Sorrells and Margaret P. Harkins.  James and Mary Jane were the parents of the following children:

Margaret A. Richardson b. January 22, 1858 d. February 16, 1911 and was married to Bud Ray.

Penina Ellen Richardson b. June 17, 1852 d. February 23, 1935 and was married to Christopher Columbus Lancaster.

James Isom Richardson b. April 1, 1867 d. January 17, 1949 was married to Sara Dillie Elizabeth Meadows on November 30, 1890.  They were the parents of the following children:



Earnest Clarence Richardson b. October 1, 1891.  He was married first to Dean Burns and second to Edna Walker.  No Children.


Carrie Dean Richardson b. March 11, 1894 d. August 26, 1957.  She was married to Edgar Elam Smith.  Three children, Edgar Blair, Annie Elizabeth and James William Smith.



Kenneth Orbrum Richardson b. March 17, 1896 d. January 9, 1968.  He married Grace Taylor.  Six children, William Clarence, Wilma Louise, K.O., Jr., Marjorie Dean, Sara Ann and Jack Richardson.



Carl Luther Richardson b. June 17, 1897 d. March 17, 1962.  He married Frances Margaret Milton.  Seven children, Herschal Glenn, William Edgar, Virgil Gross,  Charles Ray, Bobby Eugene, Carline and Margaret Etta Richardson.



Hoyte Tilman Richardson b. September 10, 1899 d. August 6, 1973.  He married Lula Maude Peal.  No children.



Mary Lou Richardson b. October 12, 1901 d. July 13, 1982.  She married Hubert Jackson Doggett.  No children.



James Floyd Richardson b. March 10, 1904 d. June 9, 1966.  He married Nancy Jane Hamilton.  Three children, James Harold, Betty Jean and Thomas Gary Richardson.



Elizabeth Leota Richardson b. November 16, 1906 d. December 4, 1964.  She married Clyde Duckworth.  One daughter, Wanda Bayne Duckworth.



Lendol Roy Richardson b. September 27, 1909 d. January 27, 1972.  He married Effie Clay Liles.  They adopted two children, David Lyn and Mara Suzanne Richardson.



Lois Richardson b. August 26, 1914.  She married John William Brown.  One daughter, Sandra Faye Brown.



Elizabeth Leota Richardson and Clyde Duckworth were married November 16, 1930.  One daughter Wanda Bayne married John Beasley Sullivan, June 27, 1952.  They have one daughter, Dana Yvonne who married Michael Ray Watson and has one daughter, Stacy Nicole Watson.  Dana and Michael Watson divorced 2000.




A BIT OF HISTORY


Drury Richardson was charged with assualt witn intent to kill on October 28, 1854.  The charges were brought about the murder of his son-in-law, James Mansel Bartlett, in Lincoln County, Tennessee.  He was found guilty and sentenced to 2 years.  His prison number was 1492.  He was discharged from prison on July 3, 1855 by Tennessee Governor Andrew Johnson.
