In My Summer Garden |
Twas in my lovely garden that I sat One hot and sultry summer afternoon. Woes and worries thundered in my head. Nothing could I find to clear the gloom. |
Shifting sunlight patterns at my feet As leaves stirred gently in the trees. Still I sat with no consolation, Even by the gift of gentle breeze. |
But suddenly into the darkness of my mind Came the sound of gentle wings beating. Lightness found its way into my soul, I gave the little doves a smile of greeting. |
When sorrows seem to overtake us One thing you can count on from above. Just when things seem their darkest That's when God will send a dove. |
