The lakes and mountains of the West Coast provided the perfect back drop for spectacular photography. A combination of pristine forests, pure air, brilliant lighting, moody misty mystical weather and the dark tanin-laiden waters help create this. The water being the colour of strong tea, is stained by the humus rich run off from peat bogs, button grass plains and tea-tree swamps. This creates lakes that appear almost black, and thus create perfect reflections, rich colours and metallic shades of silver and gold. Click all images for a full screen view and description. |
