The Wasteland

I was sayin' let me

outta here before I was even born.

It's such a gamble when you get a face.

It's fascinatin' to observe what the mirror does

News

7 - 17 - 03

    Our EPs are in.

7 - 1 - 03

Well. We got to work on one song for the album yesterday. And now Lee has gone and got himself grounded for a week, meaning we are in all likelihood screwed, basically. So...

6 - 25 - 03 (for the last time)

    IT IS HERE.

6 - 25 - 03 (about 10 minutes later)

Oh, and by the way, Lee, Kevin says to bring Three Caballeros or he's quitting the band.

6 - 25 - 03

Hey there, fans. The album looks to be something special, if we can get it done. Which we have a month to do. Most of our songs are still in the writing phase. But I think we can do it. As long as our bassist doesn't take any more job opportunities and our drummer doesn't lapse into apathy again. Our guitarist on the other hand, should be given a break. He's pulling this band on his own weight. And a damn good job he's doing too. If you'll look under Lyrics, you can find three of his masterpieces from the upcoming album. The other members have not given him (Yes, he even maintains the website. WORSHIP HIM!) the lyrics they have written, or more likely, they haven't written any.

But keep in touch. In a month's time you will either (a) be filled with rapturous joy upon hearing that the album is done recording and will soon be released, or (b) be thrown into a deep dark hole of depression and misery and disappointment because the drummer decided to move to Arizona (so will the guitarist, but we can hardly blame him, now, can we?).

6 - 17 - 03

Well, we picked up our drummer from Gulf Shores, and now he wants to do stuff, so it looks like the album is on. Only the lack of amps combined with the mighty forces of poverty are in our way now. But you just wait. It will be something sensational.

Send all charitable donations of amplifiers, money, and pop tarts to the Spider Pit.

6 - 10 - 03

Hi there, Blank fans! Tomorrow, The Blank Generation goes to Gulf Shores! The beach will rejoice in the glory of our coming. We will be signing autographs on the pier. Be there or be square.

5 - 30 - 03

The bad news: Our amplifiers have been stolen by some no good low-life scum. Please return them.

The good news: Our EP is to be released soon on CD, including the hit songs "Mysterious Boy," "Rock 'N' Roll Elegy," "The Machine," "Youth Angst," and a new and improved recording of "The Wasteland." More info on this later.

We are now working on our first album. I am very hyped about this, and assuming it is completed it will be great. More info later.

That's about all. We've just been writing, and looking for shows lately. We need money and amplifiers. Also, we may be filming a video for Rock 'N' Roll Elegy today. That's all, later.

5 - 8 - 03

We still haven't professionally recorded, and we aren't going to yet. However we are re-recording our songs to improve quality, and we're working on hopefully getting out EPs soon. Also, this Saturday (5/10) we are playing a show. In fact, we're only playing two songs at a talent show at a mall, but it's something.

4 - 1 - 03

We're recording professionally this Sunday, and we've most likely got a deal with Lucky 13 Records. That's all for now.

3 - 22 - 03

We played a show yesterday, that went well. There was singing and dancing and Iggy Pop's "Real Wild Child" and much much more. It was one for the history books. Right there next to Woodstock '69.

If you will look up, there is a new link. It is the letter from Richard Hell we mentioned a long time ago.

Also, there are, yet again, new lyrics for the folk song, which has a different name now, and that's it I think.

3 - 20 - 03

Well, we played that show the other day. It turned out to be only for about 5 people, but we did pretty good. It was good to be able to play outside.

We have another show tomorrow. Everybody who's anybody is coming and it's free.

Perhaps we will be signed to Lucky 13 Records soon. More on this later.

3 - 14 - 03

Our drummer is remotivated, woo. And, WE HAVE A SHOW TOMORROW. YES. GOOD. WE LIKE SHOWS. A GROWING BAND NEEDS ITS SHOWS.

SHOWS: THEY DO THE BLANK GENERATION GOOD.

    GOT SHOWS?

3 - 11 - 03

We finished recording "The Machine" (Kevin actually did his drums) and I re-recorded my vocals. And we've recorded the majority of a song of ours called "The Spectre" with some nice ad-libbing at the end by Kevin. We have selected the poem "Alone," I believe, by Edgar Allen Poe to read over it.

We are nearing completion of our first single. Check back for further information about this.

Three songs are up for download, if you haven't noticed, but I can't upload "Wasteland" because it is too large. If you wish to download it still (and we strongly recommend you do, as it has been frequently described as "awesome") go here, where you can download it for a limited time. There may or may not be other songs for download later.

Finally, if you had seen the Shows page, it would have seemed like we were doing something. Alas, we've all been deceived and only one of those shows is going to happen (we hope) and hopefully there will be another in April.

    That's all for now.

3 - 5 - 03

We started to record The Machine today. I just love my own voice.

Kevin refused to play. He's been being like this for a while lately, so we're getting a new drummer.

2 - 28 - 03

This is our second attempt at a website, and this time it might actually work.

Anyway, we've recorded several songs available for download, so, hopefully that will be up soon.  Hopefully working on a new video today, and maybe some other things.  Sent demo off to Lucky 13 Records, the Hartselle label, but I haven't heard back yet.

Oh, also got an e-mail back from Richard Hell.  So far, that is our bands only accomplishment.  You can view it here.
