about Louis Palmer: Born in Budapest in 1971 Louis Palmer has been living in Lucerne since 1973 where he absolved his Diploma of Education at Teachers College in Lucerne. Since 1994 he has undertaken and successfully realised several ambitious projects which include a seven month , 10,000km solo-bicycle-tour from Kenya to Cape Town (1994-5), a 6,000km ultra-light-airplane tour over Southwestern U.S.A. (1996) and a pioneer flight with an ultra-light-water-airplane through South America. In October 1999, he was an official Tour Obeserver at the World Solar Challenge in Australia, and in December 2000, he started his first trip by car. He drove from Lucerne to Nepal and back. He is probably one of the last civilian foreigner who was allowed by the Taliban-regime to cross Afghanistan before the war started. So far LP has visited exactly 50 countries and all continents. Since 1995 he has also lectured extensively on his expeditions. He is fluent in German, English, French, Spanish, Portugese and Hungarian.
