How Old Is Old

Before my hormones began to run wild
Pre-puberty and acne when I was a child
Getting older seemed so far away
Older was judged by a month or a day
As an early teen an older woman went to University
As I lived my experiences, and went through puberty
Completeing high school, older was married
Thirties and ready to be barried
Then came my twenties and older appeared to be
Forty or older with family
Then my forties crept up from behind
Old was sixty probably deaf and blind
Now at sixty I watch in amazment
At that youthful seventy year old that lives in the basement
With vigor and health struts up the stairs
And seems as though he hasn't a care
His only duty, to look in on his ninety year old mother
Who lives across from his fifty year old "baby" brother
So, how old is old if you're looking to find
Ahead of where you are and never behind
For someone old is simply older than we
And never younger as you can see
