Simpler Times

Where should I go
And what should I do
When things start moving too fast
When everything needs to just slow down
Should I slip away to the past
To a time when
Things were much simpler
Where things moved at a slower pace
When a man could take his time
And not always be running a race
I recall a time when everyone
Seemed to be more than willing
To assist those who are in need
But, now they are all too busy
To take the time to plant the seed
Of love and compassion
After Jesus showed us how
To treat those around us with love,
Care, tenderness, understanding and compassion
As our Father does from up above
