| Smart Or Dumb I've Evolved Today I am but a parcel of who I used to be Changes in my life that even I can see Hopefully for the better and not for the worse I've evolved from the time when you knew me first Time changes all and often for the better We expand and evolve and it goes on forever Hopefully we gain more knowledge as we're better educated And not as easily unwillingly pesuaded To re-inact former blunders, so we have advanced We drink up experience which helps to enhance The being that we now have matured into A simular yet different me or you My father told me many years ago Something I think everyone should know The only difference between someone who's smart or dumb Is the dumb doesn't learn after smashing his thumb The smart simple doesn't place his in the way again But, the dumb forgets and swings while his is in The way of the hammer one more time He didn't learn from my fathers little rhyme Very few people get everything right on the first try But, what was done wrong they ask why Aware of the error they now see the light And the next time they do it, they'll get it just right |
