This Moment The lake reflects shades of green and blue As the sun slowly sets it exposes the hues It seems to have a life all of it's own So exotic the beauty that is being shown As I sit and watch, I notice the smell of rain in the air As the one that I love runs her fingers softly through my hair And we sip slowly from our glasses of wine All is perfect in this moment, as we stop here in time Nothing seems to be moving anywhere Even if it did we wouldn't care For a moment like this seldom occurs As the one that I love whispers sweet words And assures me that our love always will be She says she'll stand by me for eternity To what can you compare a moment such as this This is a moment that in heaven alone, should exist But, I take it in a savor, for at times I will need To stop and remember that GOD planted this seed Because, in life there are too few moments like these So, with gratitude and love I fall to my knees To give thanks for this moment with which I've been blessed And wait for the day of final rest For it is said, that a lifetime of pleasure multiplied by seven Does not compare to a second in heaven Patrick Wayne Hollier Copyright 2000 Patrick Hollier |
