You Got It Together

What is a marriage if not but two
Working together to try and get through
Times that are hard in driving down that road
And helping by carrying some of the load
You share the good along with the bad
And are there for each other, though troubles you've had
You've encountered so many valleys and dips
But, think of the lows you may have hit
And how you might not have gotten through
If to travel alone you had chosen to do
Without the love that the two of you share
To go it alone, would you have dared
Without the reassurance and support offered to you
Much of what you've accomplished would not have come true
So take not for granted your partner and love
The two of you together have placed you above
Where either would be if they were alone
Only with love did your house become your home
So remember your efforts through much stormy weather
And understand that all that you have, You've earned together
