Some people have been suggesting to me that I have been less than fair in determining which elves ARE pkers and which elves are NOT. This is simply not true.

Take Madik for example. This vicious and notorious pker has been marauding Gfay for months yet no one has been able to actually prove that he has ever pked anyone. Do I attack him on false allegations? No way! We held a trial in Gfay, and the breakdown and confession of Madik was chilling to say the least.

The characters in the trial were as follows:

Defendant - Madik
Lead Prosecutor - Chriselliott
Defense Attorney - Madik (Had a fool for a client)
Key Witness - Chriselliott
Judge/Reluctant Executioner - Wazu

The prosecution's case seemed unsubstantiated at first, and one eye witness was really all we had to go on.

In this case, it probably would have been better for the defense if they had not taken the stand and just let 'reasonable doubt' win the case. However, that's not what the defense chose. In cross-examination, the defendant broke down.

The courtroom stood in stunned silence. Chriselliott turned to the jury and re-stated what had just happened.

Based on the defendant's testimony, I had no choice but to rule in favor of the prosecution. Unfortunately, orc hill was swarming with Madik defenders by this time, so carrying out the sentencing would take some tact while removing the defenders one by one.

I feel that all of my critics now owe me a sincere apology, as I feel I have proven that under my system, EVERYONE receives a fair trial.

---- UPDATES ----
Judge Wazu had the following too say..
Ahem. *clears throat*

Ladies and Gentlemen of the press:

Upon further review, it was discovered that a terrible mistake has been made. Apparently the infamous 'confession' was coerced by an over-aggressive prosecutor. In actuality, we now realize that Madik has never pked anyone, and his death is a tragedy the likes of which this server has never seen.

Since the sentence of death has already been carried out, there really is no proper way to make amends. I can only offer my condolences to Madik's family, and hope that they understand that mistakes do happen, even in a system as fair and just as mine is.

I assure you all that this has never happened before, and will never happen again. After all, like the old saying goes:

"It is better that a thousand guilty gnomes run free, than one innocent elf be allowed to continue living."

(It rhymes in Gnomish)

The lead prosecutor made the following rebutal...
As we are all aware, Judge Wazu is fair and honorable but even he can make a mistake.

I earned that confession fair and square. As per standard Gnomish interrogation protocol. I first tried the infamous dark elf water torture... ummm, I mean questioning procedure on him. That didn't work so I then hung him upside down from Kelethin for several hours hoping that either his head would explode, or his memory which must have fallen down into his midsection somehow would relocate to his head. Whichever came first. No luck there either. What finally worked was by pretending to carving my initials into a tree. I told the treehumper that I was going to keep carving my initials into every tree I saw until he admitted he had killed that sweet, defenseless, and wholesome dwarf in cold blood. As you can see, I was more than fair and in no way coerced this raving lunatic into confessing.

I am hereby filing form QS-31 and demand a retrial set for the next time all involved parties are online or until I find Madik all by himself on Orc Hill.

I will be sure and inform everyone in the immediate area as to the progress of the next trial. Maybe more wintesses will come forward and tell there story of how they to were harassed by Madik.
