Thomas Fuertig collection

This pleasingly rounded four-bank machine was first introduced around 1914, and was produced by Kurht, of Nuremburg Germany.  The machine is decorated with wonderful decals on both sides of the front of a highly intricate nature.  This machine is a Commercial Model V, with serial number 5810.
CONTINENTAL

Tilman Elster collection

This machine was the progenitor of a long line of very successful machines built in Siegmar-Schonau, Germany, beginning just after the turn of the century.

CULEMA

Thomas Fuertig collection

The Culema was produced by Gebruder Lehmann, of Erfurt, Germany beginning shortly after the end of the First World War.  The "GLE" emblem on the front contains the company's initials and the first letter of "Erfurt."  Three-bank double shift frontstrike, with shift keys only on the left side of the keyboard.  This is a Culema Modell 3, with serial number 948.
