Although HALDA manufactured typewriters as early as the late 1890's, the company's products were, until introduction of the Halda Model 8 (which happened in 1914) either experimental or very low-production oddities. The Model 8 was replaced by a revised and slightly reengineered Model 10 in 1918. Financial troubles ensued, and cooperation with the Norden concern of Denmark resulted in the production of Halda-Norden machines from about 1929. In 1938, the company was merged with Facit AB, although the Halda name remained on the typewriters until the end of the 1950's. |
