AEG, the company responsible for the popular Mignon index machine, made plans to construct much more conventional and timely machines prior to the First World War, which prevented them from so doing. Finally, in 1921, the first machines of conventional four-bank front strike configuration appeared on the market from this company, carrying the brand label "AEG." Other brands were added later, such as Europa, Diplomat, DM and the one that stayed -- OLYMPIA. Here is a selection of machines from that early period. |
