Dime and myself, 12 or 13 years ago.
Well, what can I say that has not already been said or thought of by the millions of fans throughout the world shocked and disgusted by this tragedy?  When I was around 14 yrs old I picked up a copy of Pantera’s Cowboys From Hell album.  Needless to say it musically changed my life.  Shortly after that, Vulgar Display Of Power (which I regard as the greatest metal album ever recorded…. my opinion, of course) was released and simply blew my fucking mind. If it were not for Pantera, especially Dimebag Darrell’s performances, I would not have become a musician.  I would not be in a band, nor would I even know most of the friends which I have due to being a musician.
I remember waaaaaay back in the day...like…12 or 13 years ago…playing air-guitar to songs like “The Sleep” and “Heresy” in my bedroom, jumping off of my little Crate amplifier.  My dad, being the supportive parent he has always been, took my friends and I to our first Pantera show before any of us were old enough to drive or do anything for that matter.  We were lucky enough at that show to meet the band, which would be the first of many meetings with the members of Pantera.  Later on in high school I recall me and my boys Eric, Brady, Riley, Turd, Vick and many others…rocking out and drinking our livers into submission listening to Pan-fucking-Tera and watching the now classic Vulgar Videos. Not only was Pantera (Dime in particular) the greatest musical influence in my life, but they/he also provided for my friends and I a soundtrack for some of the greatest memories we will ever have in our lives. For this, I want to thank Darrell from the bottom of my fucking heart.
Dimebag’s style and charisma is left unmatched by anyone you’ll meet in the music industry.  Easily one of the most influential rock guitarists in history, Dimebag will be sadly missed by his band mates (Damageplan / Pantera), family members and millions of dedicated fans throughout the world, the latter of which I am mother-fucking proud to be a part of! It leaves a fucking hole in my soul. I’ll never forget you brother!
