Mickey stayed inside the box with his brother and sister and his Mama kitty. Yet, every now and then, a really huge being that had no fur would come over and pick up each of the kittens one by one to make sure they were doing okay. Mickey thought this huge being must be Mama kitty's mama because this was someone that fed and took care of Mama kitty. She certainly was a "Big" mama.

One day, the Big Mama came and picked up Mickey and held him close to her face. A single finger rubbed Mickey on the face, around the head and behind the ears. Mickey thought this was one of the most wonderful things he ever experienced. Besides drinking his Mama's milk and getting a bath with Mama's tongue, this was heavenly! Mickey began to purr and purr and purr. Big Mama's finger slowly followed the mark on Mickey's forehead.

"I'll call you Mickey" she said, "because of the 'M' on your forehead". Then the hand that held Mickey, gingerly presented him to another creature. It wasn't a cat like Mickey, and wasn't fur-less like Big Mama. This creature wagged it's tail and made a funny barking noise. Then BIG Mama was telling the creature to be gentle. She allowed the creature to sniff Mickey all over. Mickey shivered...it felt so funny! Then Big Mama called the creature by name..."Sara Jane".

Instead of putting Mickey back in the box, Big Mama laid Mickey on a blanket on the floor. Wow! Mickey had never seen so much around him before! Slowly he began to notice other creatures looking at him. Creatures just like Mama kitty. Many pairs of eyes sat looking at him.

Then, after a minute, the Big Mama picked Mickey up off the floor and put him back in the box by his mother's side. Mickey was glad to be back.
