Reading Journal, Exercise Portfolio, Fiction Portfolio Information

Let's use a simple folder with pockets for each assignment. No three-ring binders as they are bulky and difficult to carry.

Folder one
1A) In the left pocket: Reading Journal. We had eleven sections worth of reading, so I should find at least eleven full typed pages reflecting on the reading.

1B) In the right pocket: Exercise Portfolio. We completed five exercises. Place these in the right pocket. Here's what each should include:
a) News of the Weird. A copy of the news item plus your typed work
b) Micro Fiction. Your typed work with both stories.
c) Hopper or Dali. Your typed work.
d) New Conclusion or Original Exercise. Your typed conclusion (let us know in the title or the heading, which piece you picked or your typed exercise.
e) Music. Your handwritten work.

In the right pocket: any and all of the exercises we did from our text on reading days.

Folder Two
2) Fiction Portfolio. In the left pocket: I need the final draft of your story (6-10 pages) on top. Include the draft with my comments. Include any other drafts that represent your work at significantly and noticeably different stages than either the workshop or final draft. Remember that revision is not mere extension and entails more than simply adding three more pages to the end of a five page draft and fixing small proofreading errors.
In the right pocket: Your radical revision. Three process memos: (1) A full typed page explaining the origin of your story and composition process. (2) A full typed page discussing what you got from your workshop and how you revised your paper. (3) A full typed page explaining how you developed and composed your radical revision and what, if anything, your got from the experience.
