Picker Stick

=================

Here is a drawing with dimensions for the Picker Sticks. (2-required)

The basic board is 7/8 Thick X 1-3/8 Wide X 35 inches Long. The 8" long section (drawn on the right side) is the area where the picker/bootheel slides up and down. If you look at the webpage that shows how to make a picker/bootheel, you will see that there is a metal strap/loop attached to the back of the picker. That metal strap/loop is what slides on this 8" long area, and the 1/4 Raduis fits into the metal strap. The 1/4" R. doesn't have to be exact. It just needs the corners knocked down, probably could just be sanded off.

The drawing shows the stick tapering from 1-3/8" down to 1" between the 9" and 25" lengths. This probably isn't necessary but it is the shape of the original picker sticks. The 8" long section must be able to move freely in the slot in the lay/beater. (This area is called the shuttle box.)
