Marie-Barbe Valade
(1644-1724)
Marie-Barbe Valade was born about 1644 in the Parish of St. Nicolas, La Rochelle, Aunis, France; the daughter of Andre Valade and Sarah Cousseau.  She arrived in the Quebec Colony as a Filles A Marier, contracted to be the bride of Michel L'Homme.  They were married August 19, 1658 in Ville De Quebec.

Michel was born in 1632 at Mamers, Bonnetable, Le Mans, Sarthe, France; the son of Michel L'Homme Sr. and Marie Simon.  He and Marie-Barbe would have three children before his death on  February 23, 1676 at Portneuf:

Michel L'Homme III
- Was born on July 09, 1661 and died unknown in Montreal.  He married Marie-Therese Drouet.

Marie-Barbe L'Homme - Was born on July 31, 1670 in Sillery and died on August 26, 1711 in Ville De Quebec.  She married Jean Lavoie and the couple had at least six children.

Madeleine L'Homme - Was born on October 13, 1673 and died unknown in Neuville, Portneuf.

After Michel's death, Marie-Barbe married Jacques Meilleur On January 28, 1678 in Ville De Quebec.  Jacques was born on October 05, 1630 in St. Gervais de Rouen, Alencon, Normandy, France; the son of Jacques Meilleur and Catherine Leboulanger.  He and Marie-Barbe would have two children.  Jacques died on May 19, 1700 in Ville-De-Quebec and Barbe followed on March 07, 1724.

Marguerite Meilleur - Was born on January 07, 1678 in Neuville, Portneuf and died two days later.

Jean-Francois Meilleur - Was born on December 13, 1678 in Portneuf and died on October 09, 1754 in Riviere Des Prairies, Ile De Montreal, Quebec.  He was married twice:  Marie Leblanc (two children) and Elisabeth Verette (eleven children).
