Catherine Meliot was born on February 12, 1645, at La Rochelle, Aunis, France; the daughter of Francois Meliot and Marie Chanson. She arrived in the Quebec Colony as a Filles A Marier, contracted to be the bride of Jean Routier. They were married November 20, 1662 in Ville De Quebec. Jean was born in 1642 at St. Remi, Dieppe, Normandy, France; the son of Jean Routier Sr. and Rogiere Croussette. He and Catherine would have seven children before his death on September 29, 1677. She followed on September 23, 1699 at Sillery. |
