The Gaudet Sisters

Francoise and Marie Gaudet were from the parish of St. Martin D'Ige, Sees, Perche, Orne, France; the daughters of Nicolas Gaudet and Francoise Gadois.  They arrived in the Quebec Colony as  Filles A Marier;   Francoise contracted to Jean Desroches and Mathurine to Jacques Lemoyne.

Francoise Gaudet (1633-1715)

Francoise Gaudet was born about 1633 and died on March 9, 1715 at Pointe-Aux-Trembles de Neuville, Quebec.  She followed through with her contract and married Jean Desroches on November 18, 1647 in Montreal.  Jean was born about 1618 in Lucy-le-Bois, Ev. Autin. Bourgogne, France.  He and Francoise would have thirteen children before his death on August 23, 1684 at Point-Aux-Trembles. Infant Desroches - Was born on January 11, 1649 in Montreal and died the same day. Jean-Baptiste Desroches - Was born on December 11, 1649 in Montreal and died on August 17, 1743 in Riviere-des-Prairies, Ile De Montreal, Quebec.  He married Marie Beauchamp and the couple had at least three children. Nicolas Desroches - Was born on October 07, 1652 at Point-Aux-Trembles and died unknown.  He married Marie-Anne Archambault. Paul Desroches - Was born on December 31, 1654 and died on October 29, 1718.  He married Suzanne Leduc and the couple had at least one child. Francoise Desroches - Was born on November 24, 1657 and died on November 10, 1672 in Montreal. Jacques Desroches - Was born on March 31, 1660 in Montreal and died on November 25, 1680 at Point-Aux-Trembles. Suzanne Desroches - Was born on October 05, 1662 in Montreal and died the following day. Jean Desroches - Was born on October 11, 1663 in Montreal and died on August 23, 1687 at Point-Aux-Trembles.  He married Anne Picard. Marguerite Desroches - Was born on April 30, 1666 and died on December 07, 1756 in Montreal.  She married Jean-Baptiste Leduc and the couple had thirteen children. Jeanne Desroches - Was born on November 04, 1668 and died on November 03, 1696 in Montreal.  She married Seraphin Lauzon and the couple had at least one child. Agathe Desroches - Was born on January 16, 1671 and died on April 11, 1703 in Montreal.  She married Charles Leduc and the couple had six children. Pierre Desroches - Was born on May 15, 1673 and died unknown at Pointe-Aux-Trembles.  Etienne Desroches - Was born on August 15, 1678 and died on February 04, 1683 at Pointe-Aux-Trembles.

Mathurine Gaudet (1637-1672)

Mathurine Gaudet was born January 31, 1637 and died on November 12, 1672 in Montreal.  She followed through with her contract and married Jacques Lemoyne on November 12, 1658.  Jaques was born on August 25, 1622 at St. Remi, Dieppe, Normandy, France; the son of Pierre Lemoyne and Judith Duchesne.  He and Mathurine would have ten children before her death. Francoise Lemoyne - Was born on September 29, 1659 in Montreal.  She became a nun and died on December 24, 1687. Jacques Lemoyne - Was born on September 29, 1660.  He became a fur trader and eventually did the hiring for Ouest. Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne - Was born on April 02, 1662 in Montreal and died on July 07, 1709 at Fort Albany in James Bay.  He married Marie-Elisabeth Guyon and the couple had at least one child. Marguerite Lemoyne - Was born on February 03, 1664 in Montreal.  She became a nun and died unknown. Catherine Lemoyne - Was born on June 29, 1665 in Montreal and died unknown. Nicolas Lemoyne - Was born on November 27, 1666 in Montreal.  He became a fur-trader and travelled to the Mississippi. Jeanne Lemoyne - Was born on April 30, 1668 in Montreal.  She became a nun and died on March 27, 1703. Marie-Lemoyne - Was born on October 28, 1669 and died on January 14, 1670 in Montreal. Charles Lemoyne - Was born on October 21, 1670 and died unknown. Louis Lemoyne - Was born on November 11, 1672.  He became a navigator and died on April 22, 1702 in Montreal.
