A Marriageable Young Girl

Jacqueline Marie Freslon (1635-1712)

Jacqueline Jacquette-Marie Freslon was born on January 28, 1635 at La Trinit, Angers, Anjou, France ; the daughter of Rene Freslon and Renee Armage.  She arrived in the Quebec Colony as a Filles A Marier, contracted to be the bride of Francois (Garnier) Grenier.  They were married January 18, 1663 at Ville De Quebec. Francois was born on February 02, 1638 in the Parish of Notre Dame de Vair, Mamers, Maine, France; the son of Francois Grenier Sr. and Antoinette Boule.  Jacqueline and Francois would have eight children before her death on April 17, 1712 in Neuville, Portneuf.  Francois followed on January 21, 1719.

The Next Generation

Isaac-Joseph Grenier - Was born on November 27, 1663 in Sillery and died unknown in Neuville.  He married Marie Houde and the couple had two children.  She died in 1707 and Isaac then marrie Marie-Angelique Matte and had a daughter Agathe. Marie-Etiennette Grenier - Was born on April 14, 1666 in Sillery and died on June 19, 1703 at St. Francois Du Lac, Yamaska, Quebec.  She married Guillaume Cartier and the couple had eight children. Jeanne Grenier - Was born on October 18, 1668 in Sillery and died the same day. Marie-Francoise Grenier - Was born on October 18, 1668  in Sillery and died unknown at Pointe-Aux-Trembles.  She married Michel Desorcy and the couple had three children. Marie-Genevieve Grenier - Was born on October 05, 1670 in Sillery and died on August 22, 1745 in Neuville, Portneuf.  She married Etienne Papillon and the couple had a son. Etienne Grenier - Was born on October 28, 1673 and died on May 05, 1732 in Neuville.  He married Marie-Francoise Bergron and the couple had thirteen children. Louise-Angelique Grenier - Was born on October 27, 1676 and died as a child in Neuville. Marie-Angelique Grenier - Was born on June 11, 1679 and died as a child in Neuville.
