The Pelletier Siblings
Four Pelletier siblings took advantage of the scheme that provided  Filles A Marier:   or marriageable young women to the small colony of Quebec.  Two were sisters, Jeanne and Marie, and the other two were brothers who contracted to marry other eligible young ladies.  All were the children of Nicolas Pelletier and Jeanne De Voisy from St. Pierre de Gallardon, Beauce, France; themselves early settlers.
Marie Pelletier
(1637-1711)
Marie Pelletier was born on April 03, 1637 at St. Pierre de Gallardon, Beauce, France; the daughter of Nicolas Pelletier and Jeanne De Voisy.  Though she arrived with her family, she was eligible for the Filles A Marier program since she had been born in France and was contracted to marry Nicolas Goupil.  The wedding took place on October 17, 1650 in Ville De Quebec.

Nicolas was born in 1620 at Dumesnil-Durand, Lisieux, Normandy, France; the son of Julien Goupil and Perette Melin.  Nicolas and Marie would have two children before his death on August 24, 1655.

Marie-Anne Goupil - Was born on March 08, 1653 in Sillery and died on August 12, 1741 in Montreal.  She married Pierre Brebant and the couple had four children before his death on November 26, 1677.  Marie-Anne then married Aime Lecompte with whom she had seven more.

Marie-Francoise Goupil - Was born on February 13, 1655 in Sillery and died on April 06, 1715 in Ville De Quebec.  She married Cybard Courault and the couple had eight children.

Soon after the death of her first husband, Marie Pelletier married Denis Jean St. Denis from Notre Dame de Taillebourg, Saintes, Saintonge, France; the son of Elie Jean St. Denis and Elisabeth Lambade.  They would have twelve children.  Denis died in 1680 and Marie on March 09, 1711.

Ignace St. Denis - Was born on October 28, 1656 in Sillery and died as a child.

Joseph St. Denis - Was born in 1659 in Sillery and died on December 09, 1714 in Neuville, Portneuf.  He married Marie-Renee Garnier and the couple had seven children.

Bertrand St. Denis - Was born in 1661 in Sillery and died as a child.

Marie-Francoise St. Denis - Was born on September 02, 1664 in Sillery and died on December 20, 1708 at Hotel Dieu in Ville De Quebec.

Nicolas St. Denis - Was born on August 17, 1667 and died on February 21, 1736 in Neuville.  He married Marie-Madeleine Cliche and the couple had twelve children.

Etienne St. Denis - Was born on October 27, 1669 in Sillery and died as a child.

Catherine St. Denis - Was born on October 20, 1670 in Sillery and died on November 24, 1689 at Hotel Dieu.  She married Jean-Baptiste Dubois but had no children.

Infant St. Denis - Was born on September 21, 1674 and died the same day.

Louis St. Denis - Was born on January 21, 1675 in Sillery and died on November 28, 1747 at Terrebone.  He married Michelle Perrin.

Marie-Monique St. Denis - Was born on October 16, 1676 in Sillery and died on February 18, 1758.  She married Charles Normand and the couple had eight children.

Ignace-Denis St. Denis - Was born on March 14, 1679 and died unknown.

Francoise-Monique St. Denis - Was born on 1680 and died unknown.
JeannePelletier
(1644-1715)
Jeanne Pelletier was born on March 19, 1644 at St. Pierre de Gallardon, Beauce, France; the daughter of Nicolas Pelletier and Jeanne De Voisy.  Though she arrived with her family, she was eligible for the Filles A Marier program since she had been born in France and was contracted to marry Noel Jeremie  The wedding took place on January 29, 1659 in Ville De Quebec.

Noel was born in 1630 at Mareuil, Montagne, Perche, France; the son of Claude Jeremie and Helena Macarte.  Noel and Jeanne would have fourteen children before his death on August 04, 1696.  Jeanne followed on January 23, 1715 at St. Nicholas, Lauzon, Levi, Quebec.

Ignace Jeremie - Was born on March 11, 1660 at Lauzon and died unknown.

Marie Jeremie - Was born in 1663 at Lauzon and died unknown.

Catherine-Gertrude Jeremie - Was born on September 21, 1664 and died on July 01, 1744 in Montreal.  She married Francois-Michel Lamothe Le Pailleur and the couple had one child.

Anne-Charlotte Jeremie - Was born on April 25, 1667 and died on February 01, 1742 at Batiscan.  She married Claude Lepelle and the couple had twelve children.

Nicolas Jeremie - Was born on February 14, 1668 and died on October 18, 1732.

Jeanne Jeremie - Was born in 1669 in Sillery and died unknown.

Francois Jeremie
- Was born in 1671 and died on December 01, 1708 in Sillery.

Judith Jeremie - Was born in 1673 and died unknown.

Marie-Madeleine Jeremie - Was born in 1674 and died unknown.

Louis Jeremie - Was born in 1676 and died unknown.

Noel Jeremie - Was born in 1678 and died unknown.

Pierre Jeremie
- Was born on January 02, 1681 and died unknown.

Marie-Jeanne Jeremie - Was born in 1674 and died unknown.  She married Samuel Lecompte and the couple had at least one child.

Joseph Jeremie - Was born on August 26, 1687 and died on August 08, 1730.  He married Anne Rousseau and the couple had six children.
Marie-Genevieve De Rainville
(1643-1670)
Marie-Genevieve De Rainville was born on April 28, 1643 at St. Pierre, De Lachapple, Montligeon, Perche, Sees, France; the daughter of Charles De Rainville and Francoise De Blauet.  She arrived in the colony as a Filles A Marier contracted to marry Jean Pelletier; brother of Jeanne and Marie above.    The wedding took place on August 21, 1662 in Sillery.

Jean was born in 1633 at St-Pierre, Galardon, Chartres, Beauce, France.  He and Marie-Genevieve   would have just one child before her death on June 22, 1670.  Jean was killed by the Iroquois near St. Ignace at Sillery, Québec on November 02, 1692.

Jean Francois-Xavier Peletier - Was born on July 31, 1663 in Sillery and was killed by the Iroquois along with his dad on November 02, 1692.  He married Genevieve Letendre and the couple had three children.  His widow would later marry Etienne Volante.
Marguerite-Madeleine Morrisseau
(1640-1707)
Marguerite-Madeleine Morrisseau was born about 1640 at St. Pierre De Roy, Somme, Picardie, France; the daughter of Julien Morrisseau and Anne Brelancour.  She arrived in the colony as a Filles A Marier contracted to marry Francois Pelletier; brother of Jeanne and Marie above.    The wedding took place on September 26, 1661 in Sillery.

Francois was born on January 01, 1635 at St-Pierre, Galardon, Chartres, Beauce, France.  He and Marguerite would have ten children before his death on July 09, 1697.  She followed on Decembr 15, 1707.

There is a story concerning the marriage of Francois and Marguerite.  Seems that she was not his first love, but that he had actually been married before to a Native girl from Tadoussac; Dorothee Antaya, in a ceremony performed by a Jesuit priest.  She must have died soon after, but Francois was so heart broken that he adopted her family name of Antaya, adding it to his own.  His children with Marguerite were given the surname Pelletier dit Antaya, and later descendants dropped the Pelletier completely.  Francois purchased the seigneurie of Dorvilliers on October 22, 1675 and named it Antaya Comporte.

Marie-Angelique Antaya Pelletier - Was born on October 14, 1662 and died on March 17, 1741.  She married Francois Banliac and the couple had nine children.

Francois-Xavier Antaya  Pelletier - Was born on December 02, 1663 in Sillery and died on January 09, 1698 at Batiscan.  He married Mardeleine Thunay and the couple had at least one child.

Joseph Antaya Pelletier - Was born on March 22, 1665 in Sillery and died on September 18, 1689 in Sorel.

Marguerite-Agnes Antaya Pelletier - Was born on April 30, 1666 and died unknown.

Genevieve Antaya Pelletier - Was born on March 16, 1668 in Sillery and died on February 17, 1717 at Trois-Rivieres.  She was married first to Vincent Verdon and then Jacques Gagne with whom she had at least one child.

Cathernine Antaya Pelletier - Was born in 1670 and died on January 27, 1763 in Nicolet.  She married Denis Foucault and the couple had at least one child.

Michel Antaya Pelletier - Was born in 1674 and died in 1720.  He married Francoise Chateauneuf and the couple had fourteen children.

Jean-Baptiste Antaya Pelletier - Was born on July 20, 1676 and died unknown.

Elisabeth Antaya Pelletier - Was born in September 18, 1677 and died on November 26, 1703 at Ste-Famille.  She married Jean-Baptiste Dubois.

Louise Antaya Pelletier - Was born on September 22, 1678 and died unknown.
