First and foremost we strive to preserve and protect the breed. We breed only one or two litters a year, very selectively. Our terriers are bred for temperament, conformation, huntability, and genetic soundness. We firmly believe in BAER(hearing) and CERF(eye) testing all of our breeding terriers. Our goal is to produce a solid intelligent terrier that will do well both in the earth and the conformation ring as well as being an excellent companion. As we feel wholly responsible for everything we put on the ground, we work to find the best homes possible. Most of our terriers go into caring educated pet homes, therefore we emphasise good temperament in our breeding program. We don't breed for the money or just for the show ring - we breed to maintain the Jack Russell for what it was originally intended to be...a hardy, happy working terrier.
We are a small kennel located in Shelbyville, Kentucky, between Lexington and Louisville. We have two farms, 24 acres including our family residence with 11 Jack Russells, various farm animals and three small children, and a 60 acre farm on which we all play. I purchased my first Jack Russell, Pete, in 1990 as a companion. My husband purchased our second, Lucy, in 1992 as a gift for me and a partner for Pete. We had our first litter two years later and have been hooked ever since.
