Halloween Links

Here are some of my favorite Halloween links:

Real Haunted Houses - Bueno indexed haunted houses by state. Click on your home state and contemplate taking the drive to see some homespun fun.

Halloween Carols - Vaguely familiar sounds with words to sing along with.

Halloween HeadQuarters - Crafts, games, jokes costumes, history and food.

Unicef - I thought I would add this charitable organization in front of the next link to pretend I'm not decadent.

Godiva's Fall Collection - My first love. Godiva chocolate. 1999 sports a haunted house and cute little pumpkin truffles.

Awesome Halloween Postcards - When you care enough to send the very scariest. Happy Halloween to you and yours!

198 Halloween recipes. What exactly is in Cat poop cookies, Ghoul-ade, Hairball Salad, Maggot Stew, and Nasty Spider cake?

Batbox - Scroll down (or stay and figure out why this guy is fascinated with bat temperatures) to the largest collection of bat links. I think I saw one for those who prefer to feed maggots to bats at a distance with a batapault.

Dracula by Bram Stroker - Read the novel online.

Vampire FAQs - Large resource of myths, Hollywood vampires, blood types and diseases, folklore and facts. Maybe too much information.

The Funny Vein - What else could vampire humor be called?

Coffin Shopping - This site fascinates and disturbs me. Don't forget to check out the link to the "Corpses for Sale."
"Unfortunately coffins, as I found, are a necessity" - Louis, Interview with a Vampyre."

Halloween Magazine - A fun way for families and students to learn Halloween safety while trick-or-treating. My friend Virgil, would love this link.

City of the Silent - Welcome to the original City of the Silent, a page devoted to understanding and appreciating cemeteries. Call us taphophiles--lovers of cemeteries as cultural artifacts. Inside you will find articles that tell you how to do tombstone rubbings, chronologies, histories, calendars and other materials which will help you understand how we remember those who have gone on.

Hollywood Hauntings: True Ghost Stories - See the spots where dead celebrities reportedly roam. I think Elvis is at Wendy's. It has info on curses, too, like the one James Dean's car supposedly had and the Poltergeist one.

Rocky Horror - I just love this movie. I have the "Lips" in the "Props" graphic section. Next year I will try to include a list of all the great Halloween movies (web sites) to watch that get you in the Halloween spirit.

Planning a family vacation? Salem is good for a domestic fall vacation and Transylvania offers reasonable accomodations if going abroad:

Salem Haunted Happenings - Known for is infamous witch trials, Salem Massachusetts celebrates Halloween all month with parades, fairs and frightening festivals.

Follow Dracula - Take a 6 day tour of Transylvania, Romania, home of Prince Vlad Tepes, on whom the Dracula legend was based.
