Page Builders use Banner Generators to create titles with fancy fonts. Rectangular Banners are used for advertisements and often displayed across the top of a web site or in e-mail signatures. WebTvers learned to make the banner backgrounds transparent and to utilize the fancy font styles for their Page Headings. Here's how:
Create a Banner
- Goto: The Banner Generator
- Write in your text. I wrote: Fancy Fonts
- Select a Font Size. 30 is already in there. I erased it and chose 50.
- I didn't want any space around the letters because I wasn't really making a banner. I just wanted the "fonts." I erased the 5 (two of them) in the border and replaced them with a zero.
- Ignore Image Format, Banner Quality and Interlace.
- Now you see 9 groups of font styles. Go all the way to the right and click on the [samples] to find one you like. I liked one in the 7th group called Linotext Light Normal.
- Press your back key.
- Click on the ball in front of the group of fonts you like. I clicked on the ball in front of Old Fonts.
- Click on the drop down menu to select the style you wanted. I selected Linotext Light Normal.
- Now we go down to "Foreground Color." That is the color of your letters. Click on the word black to make your selection. If you click on rgb you can then move over to the right and put in a six digit custom color code. I wanted the default selection of black so I didn't click on the menu or fill in the rgb color.
- Next is the background color. Ignore that. Leave it as white.
- The last step is to click on the word none in the Transparency selection. Select background. This will make that white background transparent.
- Ignore the Advanced Algorithms boxes and go down and click on Submit Banner.
- You will see your banner. Underneath you will see a purplish URL (address) to your banner. Click on it.
- It may not be as clear as when you just saw it on a white background. But this will give you an idea how it will look on a black background. Since my writing is in black, it is barely visible on a black background.
- Press your goto key
- Type in: webscissors and then press your return key (webtv fills in the www and the com for you).
- Press the words Show last URL
- Click on the "Show Images" button.
- Click on your banner. All Done!
To Place your Banner on your site:
- Goto your Page Builder Index.
- Click on your page.
- Select: Change page.
- Click on: Add an item.
- Select: Picture.
- Click on: Your scrapbook.
- Click on your New Banner.
- In the lower left hand corner you might want to move this up to item #1.
- Click on: Done.
- If you want to remove the old title from your page, click on Edit title, remove the checkmark in front of Show this title on your page, and press the Done button.
- Press the Publish button (on left sidebar).
- Mission Complete!
In selecting the color of your Fancy Fonts, consider your page colors. A nice choice would be your pre-selected link colors. Match your text or even your hair color. There are no rules. Font Colors
To find the color of your page links you will need to view its source code. Type in your page address (starting with http://) and press the View Source button. Look at the top of your document for the body tags. You will see link="#123456" (the six digit code is what you are looking for) or possibly link="blue."
