I was actually debating on starting one of these pages but I believe that I have finally broken down and done so. Periodically I will be posting some different things that disturb me about Winnie the Pooh but ALSO I will be putting some things on here that I like about Winnie the Pooh, such as who my favorite character is or my favorite episode, and whether or not I liked the Tigger Movie. Stuff like that! I do hope you enjoy and will check back here when you can. I will update it hopefully daily but if I don't please don't hold it against me. Thanks!
12/17/01--My favorite Winnie the Pooh Character?
Well as much as I love Owl and even though that was my nickname through high school and college I would have to say that Eeyore is my favorite. Why you ask? Well, let's see : He's lost his house I don't know how many times, he always is losing his tail, he's gloomy BUT somehow he always finds a way to make his days brighter and his 100-Acre Wood friends laugh even in the darkest of times. My boyfriend Shawn is nicknamed Eeyore for the reason that he can be in a gloomy mood at times but he ALWAYS finds a way out of it with or without my help. I am always looking for Eeyore things everywhere I shop but I don't seem to find any new one's out there. Perhaps I am looking in the wrong place..*shrug*
--The Disney Store
I used to love going to the Disney Store in Chattanooga, TN but nowadays it sems that they don't have hardly anything in there with Winnie the Pooh. Used to be I could fine adult clothes and now it seems to have all disappeared and mostly kids clothes are there, now. I could always find something in there for my boyfriend at any time of the year but it's all gone downhill in the past year at least. Is this just my imagination or have other people noticed this decline, too? Around Thanksgiving this year my boyfriend, my parents, and I went to Galtinburg, TN to show him the Great Smokies and while there we went to one of the BIG outlet malls and we happened across the Disney Catalog Store. Well, it also had clothes, toys, movies, and other miscellaneous things but STILL no adult Pooh clothes. Boy was I disappointed. I was really hoping to find something to buy Shawn or even myself but nope. UGH! I was sooo mad! Still am! Oh, well, guess there really isn't too much of a demand for adult clothes of Winnie the Pooh since it is overall a kids show. How stupid!
--The all new Book of Pooh show
I haven't seen all too many episodes of this brand new Pooh show but I have to say that I don't like it. For one thing the voices and the mouths on the puppets hardly ever match up like it's being dubbed in japan or something. And, plus the puppets just look really dorky in my opinion. I don't think I'll ever watch this program again and I am wondering how many kids are actually watching it. *gears turn* What's the business with the narrator talking to them while they are doing a show? That's pretty dumb, too. Don't ask why, just is! HAHAHA. I wish they would put the original Winnie the Pooh episodes back on. I hardly find them on at all these days but there are times when I do find it and get to sit down and enjoy an episode.
12/19/01--Least Favorite Pooh Character
Rabbit might be my first choice because he is so bossy. I don't know how any of the 100-Acre Wood pals could be his friend except I guess they look over tha aspect of him and like him because he can be very helpful although he can be stingy. Why doesn't he like to share his honey with Pooh? Wasn't he taught any manners about sharing? Granted, in the end he does end up sharing that honey jar afterall but what convinces him to do so? Is it the sweet loving look that Pooh Bear always gives him?? Who knows! He always comes up with weird contraptions to help his garden grow, too and boy is he VERY protective of that garden. I do suppose that I would be too but not so far as to be the bodyguard of my carrots. HAHAHA!
Piglet is a scaredy cat! He's afraid of everything makes noise. Even his friends scare him if he's not ready for it. He is such a little guy that he really isn't worth being on the show...what could he really do to help anybody? I will say that even though he is small he does have a BIG heart and if needed to lend emotional support to Pooh, Rabbit, Eeyore, Owl or any of the other 100-Acre friends then he is definately the one for the job
--Confusion
Something I will never understand is we hardly see gopher, Kanga, Roo, and sometimes Owl, or even Eeyore. Why is that? Is there some reason that we may only see the main characters on every show? Perhaps the program had some troubles with ratings because the non-main characters were there but that isn't right. The show is nothing to me without ALL the characters and that sometimes turns me off from watching it. One needs support from all the other actors to make it a true kids show if you ask me but that's just my opinion.
--(SPOILER!!!!!!!!) The Tigger Movie review
I loved the Tigger Movie! It was animated perfectly and it had ALL the Pooh characters expect for Gopher I do believe. Even Roo and Kanga were there! It was a cute and even sad story with a few funny parts. Especially when Pooh was singing Lullabee to lull the bees asleep when he wanted their honey. I also loved the Tigger song! Boy that was a tongue twister whenever I tried to sing it. HAHAHAHA! It was really sweet that Tiggers friends pretended to be his family that he'd never even met but it was heartbreaking when Tigger found out that he was "the only one". By the end of the movie Tigger did realize that his friends were indeed his family and that he would be very content with that!
--Funny things
Great minds think alike with The Tigger movie. As I have mentioned in previous rantings that both my boyfriend and I are Winnie the Pooh fans. Well, we had both talked about wanting this movie for christmas. Well, guess what??? We bought the movie for each other! HAHAHAHA! That tells you that our minds are definately on the same wavelength. We did that at easter time, too. We bought each other the same exact bunny rabbit and almost did it again at Valentine's Day where he bought me a stuff monkey and I bought him a stuffed gorilla AND we almost bought each other the same exact card at that time too. Here's the question of the day : What makes us do that???
12/23/01--Winnie the Pooh Collectibles
I have found it very difficult at times to go into store such as WAL*MART or K-Mart and actually find what I am looking for in the way of Winnie the Pooh stuff. If I do find any it's usually just Pooh, Rabbit, Piglet and Tigger. Very RARELY do I find Eeyore or Owl, and I NEVER find Kanga, Roo, Gopher or even Kessie or Cassie (depending on how you spell it). At Media Play I have found the huge plus Eeyore (which I bought for Shawn for his birthday once), Pooh, Rabbit, and even Piglet. Well, where's Owl, Kanga, Roo, Kessie, and Gopher? Why don't I see any of them? Hmm??? The talking Eeyore is adorable (Shawn has that also) and I have seen the plush Eeyore that talks when you squeeze his belly and I have seen Pooh and Tigger on occasion but where is everybody else? That irks me to no end!!!! It's very disappointing to walk into a store and not find what your looking for. And, I think that Matel needs to find the time or at least START making this adorable, and cherished animals rather sooooooon! Pretty sad if you ask me!
--Teletubbies vs. Winnie the Pooh
Teletubbies - I think it's the cheesiest program I have ever seen on TV. What's the point of it? All they do is run around on grassy, flowery land and sing stupid songs, act stupid, and whatever other trouble they can possibly get themselves into. What's with the baby being the sun???? I have to say that if I were a kid that this program definately would NOT peak my curiousity and in fact wouldn't even be on my TV schedule for the day. I am very much doubting that when I have kids they will be watching it either. HAHAHA!
Winnie The Pooh - These are cute, lovely creatures that actually follow a story and have wonderful adventures either sad, happy and even occasionally they have a scary one with Heffalumps and Woozles and whatever lesser creatures they can find to us that are more than likely looking for Pooh's honey. HAHAHA. I laugh A LOT more with Pooh than any other kids show. I am not ruling what kids should watch but I am hoping that some of these ravings will clue them and their parents or other adults in on some friendly advice. I say "to each their own"
--Heffalumps and Woozles
They ought to have more episodes dealing with the "Lesser Creatures" of the 100-Acre Wood but most of all Heffalumps and Woozles. Almost everybody has heard of these rather frightening creatures but what if there is someone (either young or old) that has missed those episodes? Besides, some kids and even adults would probably like to see a scarier episode for a change. Heffalumps being like Elephants and Woozles being like Weasels make a show almost funny to watch because they seem like this really odd couple of clowns that really don't belong together as a team. These two are hardly ever sighted in the 100-Acre Woods but they really should be.
12/24/01--Merry Christmas!!!!!!!
It's Christmas Eve finally!!! Well, in retrospect it seems that I am relatively happy but I'm really not. Why, you ask? Well, Shawn isn't here to spend Christmas or even New Years with me. *sigh* I will try to perk up and be as happy as I can be but I miss him so very much. Just this morning he thought I was mad at him. How can I be? It's just gonna be very lonely here without him and he makes me so very happy. There is a present under the tree for him from friends of ours and he can't have it until he moves here. Bummer!!! I better end this before I get all teary-eyed, huh? I may do another actual raving tonight but if I don't then I will make sure I get back here after the holidays. I promise!
12/26/01--After Christmas
So, what did everybody get for Christmas? I know that this is a page primarily for Winnie the Pooh rantings but just for today I thought I would change that and brag about what I got. HAHAHA! Now, there are a few Winnie the Pooh things that I will tell you about but first here is the beginning of what I received :
DVD's:
- Rush Hour 2
- The Astronaughts Wife
- George of the Jungle
- The Peacemaker
- Sleepy Hollow
Books:
- Tom Clancy's The Bear and the Dragon
- David and Leigh Eddings The Redemption of Althalus
Pooh Stuff:
- Anniversary Clock -- has Pooh on the face of the clock with balloons on the top of the clock; has a glass cover to protect the inner workings ; the things that swing around like a pendulum are bees. It's a very cute clock and I really love it, now I have to find me a place to put it. HAHA! I think I'll just wait till I get my own place to put it somewhere.
- Eeyore Slipper Socks
- Box Calendar--Whoo whoo! That means another year of typing for my Calendar page on here. HAHAHA! I really enjoy reading all the quotes and I've flipped through some of the pictures and have found that Eeyore is there more than he has been. YES!!!
Other:
- pj's
- M&M mini's
- Maine Beanie Baby
- Green M&M Beanie
- Lighthouse bread box
- Lighthouse napkin holder with salt & pepper shakers
- A set of Panda Bear cocoa mugs
- Noah's Ark Jean Shirt
- Diamond Earings
I loved it all and I had a great day!!! *smile* I hope that everybody had the same type of day I did! What did everybody eat? We had Turkey, mashed potatoes with gravey, green bean casserole, and of course Pumpkin pie..yummy!
01/01/02--Happy New Year!!!!!!!!
I will hopefully be back to updating this page in a few days. Just please bear with me...Thanks!!! How many of you stayed up till 12am? Hmm? I did!!!! Unfortunately, my boyfriend was too tired from working to stay up...*pout* But, I forgive him!!! :)
01/03/02--Into the New Year already?
Wow, 2001 flew right on by, didn't it? Actually, what flew by was the time between Christmas and New Years. At least it did to me! I mean we had our christmas and everything but it seemed like it didn't last very long. Maybe I am just weird...hahaha
--Disney Specials
Were there any this year? I didn't even find any when I was flipping through the channels and I certainly didn't find any while I was looking through the TV Guide. Perhaps I just wasn't looking hard enough, huh? Of course, on the Disney Channel there are plenty of good movies and shows but I am talking about the other channels. Like, ABC, NBC, or CBS. I know once upon a time there used to be some on those news stations but not no more. Or am I wrong???? *shrugs*
--Pooh Calendars
I'll tell you that Disney couldn't have come out with a better idea than this Year-In-A-Box Calendars. I love them!!!! It makes it very enjoyable to see each day with a Pooh Character and a quote. It's awesome!!! Even though it's a lot of typing I really enjoy using those quote's on my Calendar Page. Go figure!!! I am weird anyways...hehehehe. So I recommend people getting these calendars of they like Winnie the Pooh. And, if they don't then buy them for the kids or something. They make great fun, laughs, and tears!
01/11/02--Mr Sanderz
Okay, on my Lesser Creatures Page it says that the sign above Pooh's door says "Mr Sanderz" and that Pooh lives under it. I just don't get that. Why, you ask? what does Mr Sanderz have to do with Pooh living under the sign? I certainly don't have a clue. I even started a forum at Collect Star Wars asking this same question and I even got the same answer as the above posted. If anybody has any more of an explanation than I've been able to come up with please e-mail me and let me know. I would greatly appreciate it! Also, if anybody has anything they would like to contribute to my ravings page that perhaps needs to be added please let me know by e-mail as well. Thanks! :)
01/15/02--Figures I have
This may sound strange but probably two or three years ago I wouldn't have been collecting Winnie the Pooh stuff even though in the past I had done a Pooh webpage I really wasn't interested in collecting it. Well, I figure that my boyfriend changed that. But, it was my mom and dad who bought me the first Pooh item. As I believe I have mentioned before I am nicknamed Owl. So, mom and dad bought me this school like Owl where he has his wing spread out over a stack of books like he's headed to teach or something. I love that one! I've also got a big stuffed Owl, a smaller stuffed Owl, two plastic owls in different poses which I will probably take pictures of and put on here. I've got the Learning with Owl set, and Eeyore butterfly Beanie for Easter, a pooh Scorpio beanie for my zodiac sign, a collectors tin with two decks of Pooh cards that HAS NOT been opened. I have an Eeyore picture frame that says "thanks for noticing me". I am really looking to own the porcelain Owl where he has his wings tucked behind his back and a apple resting on his tail. That would be excellant to have. Someday maybe! Your probably wondering why I have Eeyore stuff too, right? Well, it's to feel closer to Shawn since he's at least 1,000 miles away although that will soon change. I also have quite a few shirts with Eeyore on them plus Pooh and piglet and I adore them! :)
--Classic Pooh
I have never understood the original Pooh. Were there ever any shows about it before the New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh showed up? I got to be honest and say that I don't like the dolls from the Classic Era. Pooh really doesn't look like Pooh, PIglet doesn't look like that pig with a big heart we've all come to know, and Eeyore definately doesn't look like a donkey but more like a horse. They ahve way too much fuz or something and they don't look very durable and long lasting like the New Pooh dolls do. Very rarely when I am surfing for Pooh stuff do I find classic Pooh but it is out there. I don't think I could ever get used to it. I guess the New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh have really spoiled me...hahahah!
--Favorite Quotes
I am sure everybody has a favorite Winnie the Pooh quote. Here you will find a list of my favorites and I might even put the wav files on here for you to download them so they can become your favorites too! :)
"TutTut, it looks like rain" - Christopher Robin
"Tigger, where are your manners?" - Rabbit
"Oh, bother" - Pooh
"Oh d-d-d-ear, dear, dear" - Piglet
"Thanks for noticing me" - Eeyore
"It's not much of a tail, but I am sort of attached to it" - Eeyore
"Bouncing's what Tiggers do best! - Tigger
"T-T-F-N (Ta-Ta-For-Now)" - Tigger
Right at this moment I don't really have any favorite quotes for Owl, Kanga, Roo, or Gopher but I will, I promise! It might take me a few days to go back and look for some favorite lines of mine so just bear with me :)
--Favorite Songs
Some of the songs I will list here will be coming from Tigger Movie as well as from The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
- The Whoop-de-Dooper Bounce
- Lull-a-Bee
- Round my Family Tree
- How to be a Tigger
- Your Heart will Lead you Home - Kenny Loggins
- The Tigger Song
- The Cloud Song
- Heffalumps and Woozles
- Up, down, all around
--Tigger
How does Tigger talk the way he does? It's like he has double syllable's in places in the way he talks. Such as : Impossibible, or ridickerous, you get the the point I am sure. HAHAHA. I think I might start another thread at CollectStarWars.com about this and see how many, if any, responses I may get. Knowing MY luck I won't get any answers at all and I will probably be sitting around wondering about it. *LAUGH*
1/19/01--As promised!!!
On Jan 15th I promised that I would post pictures of what figures I have. I decided to adjust their size a tad smaller than the one's I took only because as it is it's gonna make this page slow, I think. Maybe not! So here they are! I hope you like them :)
Now, what I did with the Scorpio Pooh and the Butterfly Eeyore was took pictures of their backs so you could see what it looks like as well as their fronts. Not sure if anybody will like that or not but I do! :) In fact, I love everything I do on this page and I am still thinking about changing some things around. Enjoy!!!
2/4/02--Nothing to report
Sorry I haven't updated this lately. I haven't had anything to rave about lately. HAHAHAHA! I hope you will forgive me. I am sure I will come up with something here fairly soon, just have to sit down and think about it. I hope to update this page again soon. GOD BLESS!
2/05/02--Availability of Pooh Stuff for Adults
Just the other day on CollectStarWars a member told me there was adult Winnie the Pooh halloween costumes. Well, what I want to know is where are they hiding? How come there aren't any adult costumes out along with the childrens? In fact, lately unless your a petite you can't even find Winnie the Pooh clothing anywhere. I was lucky to even get the shirts I have now. The Disney Store doesn't have much anymore if anything at all. I haven't been to Wal*Mart in awhile so they may have something now. Who knows! Winnie the Pooh isn't just for kids! Or is it? What I mean is : Can't adults be kids, too? Of course! They are kids are heart, right? I don't think it's fair though to not have many clothes out for adults. *frowns* I think stores need to start having them. Even though I am 23 years old I enjoy wearing Winnie the Pooh clothing. Don't mind me, though. Just rambling as usual! HAHAHA!
2/6/02--Should Winnie the Pooh just be in VHS?
I know that The Tigger Movie is in DVD format but I find that anything that is in VHS format should also be available in DVD. Don't you think? WEll, I guess the reason being is because that most households have VCR's and not DVD players. But, I have noticed that rave is starting to be DVD Players. Does this make sense? Why don't more households have DVD players? Is it because people can't afford them? Or do they not have the right setup on their TV? It could be all of the above I suppose. I do know that they really aren't that much money (DVD Players) but I suppose that if you want a really good system then you will be paying a little more money. Especially if you want the WHOLE setup (6 speakers, subwoofer, a receiver, and the DVD player) PLUS it works better if you have a TV that has all the hookups you need. Personally, I have a DVD player but my TV doesn't have any hookups so I had to buy a RF Converter for it in order to even run the DVD player which works a-ok, I just hooked the sound through my stereo and it sounds rather good even though it doesn't sound as good as Shawn's (he has the WHOLE system I mentioned above). Ooops, got off subject. I am very interested in buying the videos but only if they are in DVD format. I will say that I do have a VCR but it's really not the same, is it? I rest my case!
4/20/02--Rambling
This might be a stupid commentary but I was thinking about this the other day. I went into Springmaid - Wamasuttu yesterday in Calhoun, GA looking at bedsheets because I desperately need some. Well, anyways, I went over to the Juvenile secion and saw lots of Winnie the Pooh bedsheets but only for twin beds. That wouldn't work too well for me because I have a Queen size bed. Well, my question is this :: Why is Pooh or any other cartoon bed set just for kids? I mean, can't there be adults that want them or just collect them because they are obsessed with Winnie the Pooh? I'm 23 years old and granted maybe that's too old to like Winnie the Pooh or any other cartoon but in my opinion I don't think so. Who could I ask to have this changed so that adults can get sheets of Winnie the Pooh or whatever their hearts desire? Or is it too weird and should only be for kids? SO NOT FAIR!!! HAHAHA! Sorry this is such a stupid commentary but I was curious about this :) Forgive me?????
5/23/02--Long time
It's been awhile since I've updated this page. Frankly, there really hasn't been anything to ramble about. That's pretty sad! I'm sure that I will find some more things to ramble about for Winnie the Pooh in the days to come. Especially about the new DVD that's just come out (The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh) I've yet to own it but I will definately be getting me a copy here relatively soon :)
Today I took some pictures that have been long overdue. Yes, I have the pictures of my figures up above but I am now able to put the pictures of my other items on here. I finally had the time to do so! So, here they are! Hope you enjoy! Be patient while they load! :)
Eeyore Globe (NEWLY ACQUIRED!!!!!)
Anniversary Clock (Christmas 2001)
Collector's Tin (2 decks of playing cards)
Owl Collectible
Posters
I will probably redo the poster pictures because now that I've seen them on here I find I'm not really liking them. Perhaps that's what I will work on tomorrow. Hopefully!
