Laptop hard disk interface

The purpose of using the laptop hard disk for In-car PC is because it is less power consumption, anti-shock and no +12V require.

The standard ATA interface cable is a 40-conductor cable with connectors that provides strain relief and is keyed at pin 20.

Two types of connectors are used on this interfacing:

A 40-pin connector for the connection to the pc motherboard.

And a 44-pin connector for 2.5 (laptop) hard disk.

Get a hard disk cable, cut the connector one side off.

Follow the pin assignment as the picture above, pin 1 -> pin 1, pin 2 -> pin 2, pin 3 -> pin 3……

The pin 41 & 42 connect to the power connector +5V pin and the pin 43 connect to the power connector ground pin as shown.
