Steven made his professional debut in "Children of Eden" at the Prince Edward Theatre, London. He has also been seen in "The Hot Mikado" at the Queen's Theatre and in "Cats" at the New London Theatre. In this he played the lead role of 'Munkustrap'. He then appeared in "Great Expectations" at the Hippodrome Theatre, Birmingham and on national tour. He played the parts of 'Orlick' and 'Pip'. He then went on to be in "Martin Guerre" where he was the alternate 'Arnaud Du Thil'.
Steven was in the BBC television series "Bugs" in which he played 'Ed', but he is probably most remembered for playing 'Gregg' in "London's Burning". Whilst in this he recorded his debut album "Steven Houghton". From this he released the single "Wind Beneath My Wings" that went straight to the top of the charts debuting at Number three. He's currently working on an album of his own material.
Following this Steven successfully played "Keith" in the musical "Spend! Spend! Spend!" (Picadilly Theatre) and then followed a great year as "Danny Zuko" in the national tour of "Grease".
