if I let you go (2)

chapter three

"Damn, damn, damn," Rachel threw herself into the chair angrily. "I can't believe I left the damn thing there. I'm so stupid, and now it's 6:45 and the shop's shut. Great." Rachel got up again and walked over to her PC. "I'm just gonna have to start again. Damn, and all my discs, my dictaphone, my notes......" Suddenly the doorbell went. "Who the hell can that be? I don't know anybody here." She walked over to the window. "Not anybody who owns a silver BMW anyway."
Rachel pulled the door open and looked into the gorgeous eyes of Shane. Hazel-green with an Irish twinkle. He was wearing an ox-blood leather jacket that was half-zipped up showing his black top that matched his trousers. "Oh, I'm sorry, Hi," she managed when she'd pulled herself out of the hypnotic trance.
"Um, yeah. I think this belongs to you," Shane held out the case, which Rachel took gently. "I found it in the music store earlier, in town. I would've brought it round earlier but........."
"Thank you," Rachel interrupted. "Come in, please. It's freezing out here."
