There is much work to be done on this line and much to be proven. I know without a doubt that my Susannah M. Baumgardner is the daughter of Frederick. A Church record can be found for her birth in 1784 in York County, Pennsylvania. This record states that her father was Frederick but mothers name was not recorded. Frederick was the oldest male Baumgardner in the early census in Wythe County, Virginia. He first appears on the 1820 census. He was there before 1810 because his daughter Susannah was married there in 1808. I feel that most all Baumgardner's found in Wythe County are related to Frederick in some way. I have listed some of the ones that I found in Wythe County as his children even tho there is a STRONG possibility that there are others. On the 1830 census for Wythe County, Edward and Jacob lived on each side of my Susannah. With George living next to Jacob. I strongly believe that this is one family. Other Baumgardners are found after the 1820 they are found on the 1830 and 1840 for Wythe County, Virginia. According to Wills and other facts some of these children appear to be children of Mary Magdalene Baumgardner. From what I have found she appears to be the wife of Adam Baumgardner not Belzer as others seem to think. Some of her children are named in her will which is dated 1833 in Wythe County. One son named, was John; and According to John's death record in 1853 he was born in Augusta County, Virginia and his parents were recorded as Adam and Mary Baumgardner. I am adding a few pages of FACTS which may help sort thru some of the families that were in Virginia. I will continue to work on these families and if you can help in anyway to find other memebers of Frederick's family I would love to hear from you. |
