He was a member of the Fair View Baptist Church near Sparta, MO until his death, 'Uncle John' lived at Sparta until 1915, he came to Mansfield and married Betty Gaskill on 4 Mar 1915, helived at Mansfield until his death. Funeral was held on 16 Sep 1926 by Rev. J A Russelll, Friday the body was taken to Sparta for service and laid to rest at his old home place. He leaves a widow, three sisters and one brother.
