Е 3 Susannah Mariah 'Susan' BOYD was born about 1822 in Washington County or Wythe County, Virginia. She died after 1900 in Clinton County, Kentucky. Susannah married (1) John R. THOMPSON on 29 May 1846 in Roane County, Tennessee. John was born about 1824 in Tennessee. She married (2) Brooks OWENS 18 July 1870 in Clinton County, Kentucky. He was born about 1811 in Kentucky and died before 1900 in Clinton County, Kentucky.

NOTE: (1)It is claimed by another researcher that Susannah M. Boyd was married to Henry BOYD Jr. Strange if this is true that she would be name Susannah M. after Henry S.Тs wifeЕ There is no trace of a Henry on tax lists or anything in Roane County. AND, there is never a male listed on 1820 or 1830 census with Henry and Susannah (the parents of Susannah). So I assume that this Henry Jr. was fabricated to make it look as if Fernando was not an illigimate son. This same gentleman told me that his grandfather told him Quote: УNot to look to deeply into the families past you might find something that you will not likeФ End Quote.

Because of things that happened between SusannahТs father, Henry, and a William Nail shortly after FernandoТs birth. I feel that either William Nail or David Campbell Nail son of John Nail and Jane Allison was father of Fernando. This family moved from Roane County in the early 1840Тs. David Campell Nail was about the same age as Susannah.

(3)John was not with his family on 1860 census.
(4)In the 1860 census listed with Susan Thompson is a Fernando Boyd. I do not know who the father of this child is. He is carrying her maiden name. In the 1840 census there is a child under 5 with Henry and Susannah Boyd. They are too old to have children so we can safely assume that he is SusannahТs.

ЕЕ 4 Fernando Campbell BOYD was born in March 1840 in Roane County, Tennessee. He died about 1871 in Tennessee. Fernando married Elizabeth Jane 'Betsy' WINCHESTER on 1 June 1860 in Roane County, Tennessee. Elizabeth was born about 1838. She died about 1924. After the death of Fernando, Elizabeth married James Reed KING 15 March 1874 in Sequatchie County, Tennessee. James had died before 1880 as Elizabeth was listed as head of household.

NOTE:
(1)Possilby son of Henry S. and Susannah M. Baumgardner Boyd; marked on the 1840 census but unlikely their child because of their age...
(2)Could possilby be the illigemate son of Susannah M. Boyd because there is no marriage found for Susannah.
(3)Married Elizabeth J. Winchester in Roane Co, TN.
(4)With Susannah and John Thompson in the 1850 census and with Susannah Thompson in the 1860 with wife Elizabeth, married within year...
(5)Rumor was that Fernando took his family to Albany, KY to avoid the War. But I have found no trace of him there.

She died on 28 February 1958 in Warren County, Tennessee.
