.2 George PRESTON Jr. was born 24 September 1805 in Roane County, Tennessee. He died 29 October 1869 in Osceola, St Clair County, Missouri. He married (1) Elizabeth PARMLEY on 8 April 1824 in Roane County, Tennessee. Elizabeth was born 22 April 1804 and died 17 August 1840. George married (2) Margaret WILSON on 4 April 1844. Margaret was born 3 December 1815.

NOTE: (1)Moved to MO from Roane Co, TN. One of the earliest settlers of St Clair Co, MO.
(2)Farmer and stock raiser in Cedar Township on Sac River.
(3)Was sheriff for 4 years in Nevada County, MO.
(4)Was member of the Christian Church when he died in 1869.
(5)Had 9 children by his first marriage and 5 children by his second wife.

Е 3 John PRESTON was born 14 January 1825 in Roane County, Tennessee. He died 13 May 1858 in St Clair County, Missouri. He married Jane WILLIAMS on 26 April 1854.

Е 3 Solomon PRESTON was born about 1826 in Roane County, Tennessee. He married Mary J. BARNES on 5 April 1859 in Missouri. She was born about 1827 in Missouri.

NOTE: (1) One of the two sons and seven daughters of the first marriage of his father.
(2) Came to MO from TN when he was 16 years old.
(3)Recieved very little education when in TN.
(4) He made a four month trip by ox-team to CA and worked in the mines there for 2 years. Returned to MO via Isthmus in 1852.
(5) Married Mary J Barnes in 1859, they had 9 children.
(6)Lived in Kansas from 1862-1865 and moved back to St Clair Co, MO in 1867 where he bought land. He owned 206 acres and was owner of 352 acres in St Clair Co where he as a farmer and stock-raiser. Was in wagon making business before his marriage.
(7) He was of the Democrat party, but later became a Republican and is now a Greenbacker.

NOTE: (1) From obituary of Jan 1924 in Visalia Daily Times, Katharine moved to MO from TN when she was five. Came to CA with her husband in 1874. She took up nursing after the death of her husband and practiced until age 60. She died from Acute Bronchitis.

"Durin his residence hre (55 years), Mr ward was engaged in the real estate and insurance business, and served as official of a delta ditch company. He was an elder in the First Christian Church in this city. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of Amercan and the Odd Fellows lodges."
