She was born about 1835 and would have been closer to Jesse Preston's age. Jesse Matlock would have been 60 + years. However, in 1860 census Jesse Preston lived next door to Rebecca Stalcup, a widow with children. In the 1870 census Jesse Preston had moved away and Rebecca Stalcup had married B Dickson, there was a child 8 years old named Lincoln, who would have been the child born 1862.
